There are several ways to communicate with friends and colleagues when you're traveling. Shouting very loudly is one option, but it's pretty useless unless the person you're trying to contact is within spitting distance. So what do you do? No, you don't pack two tin cans and a really long piece of string. You use the phone. The problem is, contrary to the popular saying, talk is not cheap. But it is if you use the ingenious Skype-friendly VTraveller. That's because this sleek little phone allows you to make quality VoIP calls wherever you may roam.
For anyone who's spent the past couple of years living in a cave, Skype is a simple software application that utilizes VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology. This lets you use your computer to make free calls to other Skype users and obscenely low cost calls to regular landlines and cell phones all over the world. How? Well, in a nutshell it digitally converts your voice through your internet connection (broadband is best) and on to its final destination. Clever, right?
But what's so good about the VTraveller, we hear you ask. Well, this stylish cell-lookalike is a fully functional USB-powered phone that works in exactly the same way as our other VoIP handsets. The difference is it's a compact one-piece unit that you can take anywhere. Just pop in the Skype CD, plug the VTraveller into your computer's USB socket, and you’re ready to roll. It's easier than, er, picking up the phone!
Despite its supreme portability the VTraveller is crammed with features including an LED message/connection indicator, one click voicemail, voice recognition technology and wideband circuitry for crystal clear sound. Best of all you can navigate all of Skype's services via the VTraveller's keypad, so there's no need to fool around with laptop nubs and touchpads.
Apart from a James Bond briefcase full of flat-packed supermodels, we can think of no better traveling companion than the VTraveller, as it allows you to chatter away for nothing wherever you may roam. But even if you're not going anywhere the VTraveller is a great investment, because it's so gorgeously compact you can shove it in a drawer when you're not using it - which won't be very often, because once you start Skype-ing on the VTraveller you'll be hooked.

2 Years limited manufacturers hardware warranty SkypeOut If this was a perfect world, there'd be no yodeling, we wouldn't be ashamed of our love handles and everyone would be using Skype to talk for free. Unfortunately the world is far from perfect, and not everyone has Skype yet. That's why we have SkypeOut, a low cost way to make calls from Skype to friends who still use those traditional landlines or cell phones. That means calling anyone, anywhere in the world at local rates. Skype Voicemail Sometimes talking on Skype isn't possible when the person you're trying to call is offline or busy. That's why we have Skype Voicemail. Skype Voicemail allows you to send voicemail messages to anyone on Skype. It is like sending a chat but with the sound on. You can record messages and send them to your friends without disturbing them. You can pick up messages when you're away or busy on another call and you can keep the messages for as long as you like. In fact, you don't have to be online at all for someone to leave a message. People will be able to contact you when you're sleeping, walking the dog, mowing the lawn, knitting, playing with the cat, ignoring people, practicing your tap dancing and we could go on here. When you can't or don't have the time to talk or pick up the phone, Skype Voicemail does it for you. |

I fail to see why the "Skype Phone Converter" only works in the UK as said at the end of the article. The only "UK' thing is the UK phone jack in the converter than we plug our phone set it. This is easily solved with a 50p adapter! I hate it when I see that I can't buy it in the US for this wrong reason. Any comments please?
All the System Requirements given seem to be only for Windows.

Works fantastic with VOIPSTUNT, 100% free calls worldwide, makes skypes 1. 2p/minute look a rip off!
EVERYONE should have one of these. It's a big bigger than your average mobile phone and it doesn't have a built in camera, but I'm more excited about this than any Nokia I've ever seen. You don't need to know how good the sound quality is, or how it is just like using a normal phone. You just need to buy one now and start using the FREE credit to call whoever you like and once you've seen the light, you'll never lift that dusty old land line phone up again.
